Vegan Living

We had a great time at Karavalli's!  The food was excellent and the servers were very accomodating!  We met some new members - fantastic people. Dave & Jan are the head of the Albany Vegetarian Network.  They are extremely passionate about the animals and an incredible resource.  They are putting on the Vegetarian Expo at the Saratoga City Center on September 13th. We also got to meet Kevin!  I hope everyone had a good time.  I always wish we had more time to talk. The meetings seem to come to an end just when we all get comfortable!  We are really looking forward to the Grafton State Park outing that the Berkshire Vegetarian Group is putting on.  And at the end of the month, our  outing to the Woodstock Farm Animal Sanctuary should be fantastic.

Dave and Jan mentioned that there is also a Catskill Animal Sanctuary. It's even closer than Woodstock.  Probably well worth the trip.  Check out their website for more info and directions.

We also discussed a new topic: Vaccinations.  Vaccines are not vegan!  We are not made aware of all of the animal blood products that are used in children's and adult vaccinations. This is just one reason to educate yourself on the ingredients and safety of immunizations.  I will post a more detailed article on Vegan Mommy in the next few days with websites that you can refer to.
