Vegan Dogs?! 05/10/2008

Can our pets live healthy lives on the vegan diet?  At our April Meetup, Emily brought it to my attention that dogs can!  Our dog, Bella, has to be the pickiest eater on the planet.  Either that, or she is getting plenty of food from our two year old!  She won't eat her dog food.  She will eat just about any veggie I give her!  I am looking into changing her diet.

Feeding a Vegetarian Diet

Dogs are in practice omnivores and are able to find all the nutrients they require for an active, healthy life through vegetarian sources. So just like you, your dog is perfectly well adapted to live, thrive and survive on a meat-free diet.

Feeding a meat-free diet is realistic and can be beneficial for your dog, providing that all the essential nutrients required are provided. One of the best ways to ensure this is to feed a properly balanced vegetarian dog food, formulated by specialist nutritionists. Info cited from V Dog Dogfood

We had an incredible turnout after only one month!  We had so much fun getting to know one another.  It's amazing how comfortable we all were.   It was as if we had known each other for a very long time.  We shared some delicious vegan food and had some "hot topic" conversations.  We all share the same passion for the animals and the environment.  My Mom & I are so excited to see where this group goes.  Thanks to everyone who made that day so special!

This is a special place to share our recipes and group info!  I will post an overview of each meeting and any upcoming events on our blog!  Thanks for joining and if you have any questions or comments don't hesitate to post on the blog or contact me through email!
